Devils Punch Bowl...Day 6

Woke up about 6 am not feeling very hungry and went on a short walk before leaving the Dunes Trailhead Parking lot.

Today, we are looking to get to Tillamook. Siri says its about a 3 hour drive, but we knew that we weren't going to be able to help ourselves and we probably would stop off a few times and make it a 6-7 hour drive. After coffee, we continued up the 101 and yes, we decided to pull off to make some breakfast and took a short walk to look at some of the dunes near Heceta Beach right outside of Florence.

We also stopped at a vista to get a view of the Heceta Head Lighthouse.

We drove a bit further up the road near Otters Rock to get a look at the Devils Punch Bowl and have lunch.

It was still early, and the plan was still to get to Tillamook before 3pm. We confirmed a stay with a Harvest HostBlue Heron French Cheese and we arrived on time and checked in and found a spot.

The Blue Heron French Cheese Co. Specializes in Brie Cheeses, but offers a variety of other items from wines, Tillamook ice cream, Jams and Honey, and a Delicatessen. We met a couple of others that were staying at the Blue Heron. Cheryl who has started flying drones at the age of 70 and started her own Youtube channel that was a spotlight for ELKS and told us about all of the campsites that were available as a member. We also met Lee, he seemed to be pretty well off as he rolled up in a 43 ft Tiffin.

He shared with us his transitions from a Van to a Class C until he recently purchased the Tiffin he had with the 4 pull outs and TVs. We spoke so long that by the time we went to grab dinner the deli had shut down for the night. Lucky we had provisions, we ate and called it a night.

Oh and BTW, these truffles look cute, but taste awful!
